At the end of each year, all the carriers impose and industry-wide telco embargo on all non-emergency telecommunications work.
As we move toward the Christmas period, the telco embargo for 2019 is fast approaching. This year, the embargo starts on December 13.
What does the telco embargo mean?
During the embargo, all the carriers will not be processing orders for new services. If you are looking at getting some new services installed over the Christmas period, your order must be lodged and accepted before the embargo starts.
If any orders are not placed in time, they won’t be processed until the embargo is over.
What services does the embargo apply to?
For our clients, the embargo is in force for all data services. This includes fibre services, NBN and fixed wireless.
How long does the embargo run for?
The embargo starts on December 13, 2019 and runs until January 7, 2020.
Can I place an order during the telco embargo?
Yes, an order can be placed during the embargo, however it won’t be processed until the embargo is over. All orders will simply queue.
If you have any questions about the embargo or you just want to make sure you’re not going to get caught out, get in touch and we’ll help you get all your ducks in a row.
